Laphroaig is a whisky distillery on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay and is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. The buildings of the distillery are classified in the Scottish heritage lists. In the production of Laphroaig, barley malt is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich taste. This Laphroaig is based on the classic Laphroaig 10 Years Old. This whisky is finished in Oloroso sherry casks. Tasting notes:Colour: Gold. Nose: Very smoky, sweet, peaty, notes of manuka honey, clove aroma, smoked bacon, leather, iodine, pine tar. Taste: Full-bodied, sweet, aromatic, notes of wax, furniture polish, toffee, maple, dark chocolate, cedar, wood. Finish: Long lasting.
