The Scheiblhofer winery is a family business and cultivates a total vineyard area of 30 hectares. All the grapes are processed on the estate's own premises and marketed exclusively in bottles. The winery is not only very well known for its Prädikatsweine, but also for its top red wines "Big John". Johann Scheiblhofer achieved more than 300 gold medals at nationwide awards, thus achieving the most awards nationwide. Tasting notes:Deep ruby garnet in the glass. Intense nose with hints of cassis, black cherries and noble wood. On the palate a subtle smoke, present tannins with a long finish. A red wine with great potential. Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt. Aging: 12 months in new American wooden barrels. Closure: Natural cork. Acidity: 4,5 g/l. Residual sugar: 2,2 g/l. Drinking temperature: 16 °C. Storage potential: Until 2031. This red wine harmonizes perfectly with meat, game, strong sauces and spicy cheese.
